It is a part of the broader RokBase Core Facility Data Collection v1.0. <div><br /></div><div><p style='margin-bottom:0in;'><b><u><span style='color:black;'>Summary (Purpose):</span></u></b></p>
<p style='margin-bottom:0in;'><span style='color:black;'>The RokBase Core
Facility Data Collection v1.0 is an aggregation of information on the locations
and collections of geologic core facilities in the United States. It contains
two spatial files, their corresponding attribute tables within a catalog, and an
interactive web map and dashboard. It is intended to be used for research and
comparison purposes, see full disclaimer and credits. Please contact NETL if
revisions / corrections can be made to improve this dataset.</span></p><p style='margin-bottom:0in;'><span style='color:black;'><br /></span></p>
<p style='margin-bottom:0in;'><b><u><span style='color:black;'>Description:</span></u></b><b><span style='color:black;'> </span></b><span style='color:black;'>This </span><span style='color:black;'>RokBase Core Facility Data Collection
v1.0 is an aggregation of information on the locations and collections of geologic
core facilities in the United States. The collection contains four separate resources: </span></p>
<p style='margin-bottom:0in; text-indent:.5in;'></p><ol><li><span style='color:black;'>RokBase Core Facility Dashboard – an interactive web
map and dashboard </span></li><li><span style='color:black;'>Core Repositories – a spatial point feature dataset
showing </span><span style='color:black;'>the
locations of core facilities, primarily in the United States, with links to
their landing pages, mapping applications, and REST/API data via ESRI ArcGIS
Online. </span><span style='color:black;'><span> </span></span></li><li><span style='color:black;'>Core Facility Statues – a spatial polygon feature
dataset showing the types of core facilities located in each state. </span><span style='color:black;'>It has state outlines labeled by
their core repository status, indicating whether the state has a state, multi-state,
or global facility. </span></li><li><span style='color:black;'>RokBase Core Catalog v1.0.xlsx <span> </span>- A spreadsheet with the attribute tables for the
two spatial data sets as well as information on the states without core facilities.</span></li></ol><p></p>
<p style='margin-bottom:0in; text-indent:.5in;'><span style='color:black;'>The intention of this data collection is to compile this
information centrally to make it easier for users to view the locations of core
facilities across the United States. This allows users to more easily
understand what data are available and which institutions store and manage cores.
The focus of this effort was to gather information on United States-based
geologic core facilities, however, some shallow core, sediment samples, and
other resources are also included. This data collection is part of the National
Energy Technology Lab's broader RokBase Project, additional information on the
project can be found here: <a href='https://www.rokbase.org/' rel='nofollow ugc'>https://www.rokbase.org/</a></span></p><p style='margin-bottom:0in; text-indent:.5in;'><br /></p>
<p style='margin-bottom:0in; text-indent:.5in;'><span style='color:black;'>Version v1.0 is the initial publication of this data collection.
Please contact NETL if revisions can be made to improve this dataset.</span></p><br /></div> |
