Description: The State Core Facility Status layer is a a web-hosted
feature dataset available through an ArcGIS online REST Service which contains
polygons showing the types of core facilities located in each state. It has state outlines labeled by their core repository
status, indicating whether the state has a state, multi-state, or global
facility. It is a part of the broader RokBase Core Facility Data Collection v1.0. Summary (Purpose):The RokBase Core Facility Data Collection v1.0 is an aggregation of information on the locations and collections of geologic core facilities in the United States. It contains two spatial files, their corresponding attribute tables within a catalog, and an interactive web map and dashboard. It is intended to be used for research and comparison purposes, see full disclaimer and credits. Please contact NETL if revisions / corrections can be made to improve this dataset.Description: This RokBase Core Facility Data Collection v1.0 is an aggregation of information on the locations and collections of geologic core facilities in the United States. The collection contains four separate resources: RokBase Core Facility Dashboard – an interactive web map and dashboard Core Repositories – a spatial point feature dataset showing the locations of core facilities, primarily in the United States, with links to their landing pages, mapping applications, and REST/API data via ESRI ArcGIS Online. Core Facility Statues – a spatial polygon feature dataset showing the types of core facilities located in each state. It has state outlines labeled by their core repository status, indicating whether the state has a state, multi-state, or global facility. RokBase Core Catalog v1.0.xlsx - A spreadsheet with the attribute tables for the two spatial data sets as well as information on the states without core facilities. The intention of this data collection is to compile this information centrally to make it easier for users to view the locations of core facilities across the United States. This allows users to more easily understand what data are available and which institutions store and manage cores. The focus of this effort was to gather information on United States-based geologic core facilities, however, some shallow core, sediment samples, and other resources are also included. This data collection is part of the National Energy Technology Lab's broader RokBase Project, additional information on the project can be found here: https://www.rokbase.org/Version v1.0 is the initial publication of this data collection. Please contact NETL if revisions can be made to improve this dataset.
